Smoky Quartz
Smoky quartz is mostly found in mountainous regions or in volcanic rock where there is granite. It is thought that clear quartz turns to the smoky colour when subjected to natural radioactivity within the ground. Much of the smoky quartz in shops is in fact irradiated rock crystal but has the same healing qualities as the natural stone. The yellow-brown variety found in Scotland is called Cairngorm. It can be found worldwide.
This stone is great at soothing stress and can help in tolerating difficult times. It aids in detoxification and absorbs electromagnetic smog.
