Pyrite
Sometimes called iron pyrites or fool's gold, this common mineral is found in all sorts of rock, the largest deposits are found in Spain. Its name derives from the Greek word pyr, meaning ''fire''- because it sparks easily when struck and has been used in fire-making since ancient times.
Found in perfect cubes, as well as complex clusters and massive lumps, pyrite is soft and brittle and is best kept away from harder stones.
Pyrite inspires enthusiasm, eases anxiety and depression and can strengthen logical thinking. It can create a grounded sence of reality and also protects from pollutants and negative energy.
