Moonstone
Moonstone is a variety of orthoclase, this mineral feldspar is named for its soft, pearly blue or white sheen, rather like the shining of the moon. This is caused by the reflection of light by the internal structure, made up of alternatin layers of albite and orthoclase feldspar. The characteristic lustre of moonstone can vary depending on its structure, it can shop opalescence, rainbow irrescence and schiller (twinkling). The best moonstone can be found in Burma and Sri Lanka but can also be found in India, Madagascar, Brazil, the USA, Mexico, Australia and Tanzania.
This stone is great for calming emotions, moonstone promotes intuition and empathy, it calms overreactions and helps everyone get in touch with their feminine side. Moonstone soothes stress and improves emotional intelligence.
