Malachite
A secondary mineral of copper deposits, malachite is often found alongside azurite. It contains about 60 percent copper so is a useful ore. Found mainly in Africa, Russia and Australia, malachite has long been used as a magical protection against the ''evil eye''.
Malachite is very soft and absorbent, so should be kept separate from harder stones and corrosive materials such as salt and oils.
