The history of mahogany obsidian goes right back to the stone age when it was used as a weapon. Mahogany obsidian is a dark reddish - brown with black inclusions, this distinctive colour is due to its high concentration of iron. Obsidian is associated with Pluto - Greek god of the underworld and keeper of hidden treasure.
