This stones history stretches back over 5,000 years, it was prized by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt. It is made up of several different minerals, including lazurite, sodalite, hauyne, calcite and pyrite. This stone is usually found in boulders or within limestones. The best quality Lapis is found in Afghanistan but can also be found in Argentina, Chile, Canada and the USA. Genuine Lapis Lazuli has a whitish glow when held under ultraviolet light.
