I would like you to enjoy wearing my jewellery for many years and it is important to remember that pearls and
gemstones are natural products which need taking care of. Here is a list of dos and don'ts that I think will help.
Do:
wipe your stones with a clean, soft cotton cloth to remove any oils after wearing.
use only very gentle soap solution to clean your jewellery, making sure you never over moisten jewellery.
re-string most often worn jewellery. I offer a re-stringing service for my jewellery - please contact me at
info@spjewellery.co.uk for details.
store individual pieces of jewellery separately, ideally
necklaces should be kept in the boxes provided.
Don't
have a bath, shower or go swimming with your jewellery on.
spray perfume or body lotion on your jewellery.
do any physical activities while wearing your jewellery, including housework.
use harsh chemical cleaners on your jewellery.
wear your jewellery overnight .
hang your jewellery on a hook, as it will put unnecessary pressure on it and will lead to breakages.
store your jewellery jumbled up together.
never store jewellery in the bathroom.
Last but not least, DON'T fiddle with your jewellery, this is the number 1 cause of breakages! Over time pulling and twisting beads will weaken the necklace and it will break.
