Hematite
This mineral has a high iron content. Usually found in lumps, it was dug out of the world's first mines in Africa but can now be found in Britain, Italy, Brazil, Sweden, Canada and Switzerland.
Hematite it metallic and heavy for its size and sometimes becomes magnetic when heated.
It is a stong stone, it supports timid women, boosts self-esteem, enhances willpower and imparts confidence. It is a useful stone for overcoming compultions and addictions. Hematite stimulates concentration and focus. It enhances memory and original thought.
Physically, Hematite has a strong connection with blood, in the past it was used to protect the wearer from bleeding. It restores, strenghtens and regulates the blood supply.
