Description This sterling silver pendant has 2 very different pieces of green amethyst, the first is a faceted oval measuring approx 10x8mm, the second is a rough, un-polished piece of green amethyst which measures approx 13x16.  The pendant measures approx 37x13mm.  It comes with a 16 inch sterling silver chain. Amethyst is a variety of quartz coloured by iron.  Shades vary from pale lilac to dark purple but it can turn brown, yellow or green if exposed to heat.  The crystal mostly forms in geodes, in rock cavities left by volcanic gas bubbles. Traditionally, Amethyst was worn to prevent drunkenness, it overcomes addictions and blockages of all kinds.  Amethyst is extremely beneficial to the mind, calming or stimulating as appropriate.  Mentally, it can help you be more focused, it can help insomnia when caused by an overactive mind and protects against nightmares.  Amethyst enhances memory and improves motivation, making you able to set more realistic goals.  It dispels anger, fear, rage and anxiety, amethyst supports coming to terms with loss.
