Description This sterling silver pendant has 2 very different pieces of green amethyst, the first is a faceted oval measuring approx 10x8mm, the second is a rough, un-polished piece of green amethyst which measures approx 13x16.  The pendant measures approx 37x13mm.  It comes with a 16 inch sterling silver chain. Amethyst is a variety of quartz coloured by iron.  Shades vary from pale lilac to dark purple but it can turn brown, yellow or green if exposed to heat.  The crystal mostly forms in geodes, in rock cavities left by volcanic gas bubbles.
