Carnelian
Carnelian crystallizes from silica-rich solutions coloured by iron oxide impurities. Some of the best sources are India, Brazil, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay, although a walk along any shoreline is likely to reveal carnelian pebbles.
Carnelian, or cornelian as it used to be known is densely coloured, translucent to opaque. The colour can be enhanced by gentle heat. The stone is a form of chalcedony and is usually found as pebbles.
A stabilizing stone with high energy, it is excellent for restoring motivation and for stimulating creativity. Carnelian gives courage and motivates for success in business. This stone can help you to trust yourself and encourages steadfastness. It can heal lower back pains, rheumatism, arthritus and depression, especially in those of advanced years. Carnelian improves the absorption of vitamins and minerals.
